Catching a screenshot using the GIMP

Screenshots can be created very easily using the GIMP.

Start the GIMP up, make sure whatever you want to capture is below the GIMP's window and then select File->Acquire->Screen shot and choose whether you want to grap the whole screen or just one window on the screen.

This is a screen shot of one of the previous jpegs opened in PhotoShop. The screen shot has been made by acquiring a single window and not a full screen.



The previous jpegs were acquired as a whole screen because I needed to include two windows in the one jpeg. If I had acquired a single window I would have had to choose between the Layers window or the GIMP image window.
